Tidewater - Warehouse Associate

Job Description

Tidewater* is now hiring Warehouse Associates to support our warehouse inspection and trans-load operations.*

The Company: Tidewater performs comprehensive container and cargo handling services for Vancouver Fraser Port Authority (VFPA) at the Tsawwassen Container Examination Facility (TCEF) related to the examination/inspection of containerized cargo by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) to fulfill national security objectives. Tidewater also provides integrated warehousing and containerized cargo trans-loading solutions for importers and exporters at the TCEF site.

Position Overview: The warehouse associate performs a full range of warehouse functions related to the movement and handling of all forms of cargo and other goods associated with trans-loading, warehousing and the examination of containerized cargo. The work involves assisting CBSA staff in the movement and handling of containerized cargo for examination, and the trans-loading of cargo between containers and other forms of transport in readiness for on carriage to destination.

Shift: 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Friday

Hourly rate of pay: $24.00+

  • Proven warehouse experience with an understanding of warehouse workflow/ procedures/ safety protocols.

  • Ability to operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks and warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to load, unload and lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.

  • Able to work under pressure and timelines.

  • Be able to participate in shiftwork; morning/ afternoon shifts.

  • Basic proficiency with the use of computer systems and MS Office products.

  • Physically fit and able to perform the scope of cargo handling activities for the duration of each shift.

    Employment is conditional upon applicants successfully completing all necessary pre-employment requirements including a CBSA security clearance criminal records check to qualify for employment. Tidewater / Harbour Link is a participant in the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Partners in Protection (PIP), Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism (C-TPAT) and other international security programs in which the Company is a participant (the “Security Programs”). Continued employment with the Company is conditional upon employees maintaining such qualification under the Security Programs. If, at any time, an employee becomes unqualified under the Security Programs, termination of employment shall be immediate.
